From this, it establishes that men have three types of faiths and mental constitutions –\u00a0 Saatvik,\u00a0 Raajas, and Taamas.\u00a0 Aa saatvik god is dear to a Saatvik person;\u00a0 demigods and demons are dear to a Raajasik person, and spirits and ghosts are dear to a Taamasik person.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

God says –\u00a0 Food is of three kinds,\u00a0 but while elaborating on the kinds of foods,\u00a0 He does not say which of the foods are\u00a0 good.\u00a0 Rather He shows which foods are dear to Saatvik, Raajasik and Taamasik people.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Here a question arises that \u2018why did He do so?\u2019\u00a0 The answer to this is \u2018Arjuna asked about the disposition of those who left the ordinance of the scriptures and with faith worshiped the Lord.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 To this God, says in Gita 17\/3 \u2012<\/p>\n

The faith of all men conforms to their inner disposition (antahkarna). Faith constitutes a man. Therefore, whatever is the nature of his faith, that alone is his firm position.<\/p>\n

Man can be known by his activities related to worship and his faith.\u00a0\u00a0 Faith is according to his inner disposition.\u00a0 Therefore,\u00a0 three kinds of foods will be appealing to him.\u00a0\u00a0 He who does not do any form of prayer or worship,\u00a0\u00a0 his firm position can be known by his food habits.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Even if person does not pray,\u00a0 but surely he will be eating food.\u00a0 From this itself, one can get to know a man\u2019s firm position.\u00a0 Therefore God talks about foods \u2012 \u2018\u0906\u0939\u093e\u0930\u0938\u094d\u0924\u094d\u0935\u092a\u093f\u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0938\u094d\u092f\u0924\u094d\u0930\u093f\u0935\u093f\u0927\u094b\u092d\u0935\u0924\u093f\u092a\u094d\u0930\u093f\u092f\u0903 Along with the food,\u00a0 God has mentioned the word \u2018\u092a\u094d\u0930\u093f\u092f\u2019 \u2018dear\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0 The reason for using the word\u00a0 \u2018\u092a\u094d\u0930\u093f\u092f\u2019 (Dear),\u00a0 is that,\u00a0 whatever food is pleasing and dear to a man,\u00a0 so becomes his nature, and as is his nature,\u00a0 so is his faith, his firm position,\u00a0 and so forth are the kind of foods that are dear to him.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
